May Day for me, heralds a real celebration of everything that is wonderful about the Seasons - and particularly Spring - my favourite time of year. Everywhere you turn, the blossom scent is in the air, the colours of nature are amazing, and fresh leaves are reaching for the sky. The climate has warmed up, the evenings are longer, birds are singing their hearts out. As they pass my window in the morning, on their way to school, children's voices seem so much more cheery and animated - a great start to the day.

According to "Google" celebrating May Day means dancing, singing and cake! My granddaughter, Jourdan, has just made some delicious choc chip cookies!

Also, another reason to celebrate - 39 years ago, my eldest daughter was due to be born on May 2nd, so every day of May - until 12th, when she finally arrived, I awoke with a feeling of excitement, and expectation. Maybe today would be that special day - and every year since, it's been easy to remember those feelings.

I know it's a stressful time for teachers, who have a mountain of work over these few weeks. I hope they can take an hour or two out of their day to take a deep breath, and remember what an amazing job they do! We love working with you! We thank you so much, we salute you! Very well done for all the effort and spirit you put into to your work!
